In January 2015, St. Peter’s University that already offered a traditional degree in business, wanted to establish an online BA/ BS course to reach out to adult learners and students who were unable to attend conventional colleges. The educator partnered with Ellucian’s Academic and Grant Services’ instructional design team to develop an attractive online degree program that would retain St. Peter’s high academic standards. After consulting with Ellucian, St. Peter’s elected to build a business curriculum using gamification. The gameful-learning made the online courses exciting by giving scores and rewards to the students as they progress—building a more positive and self-motivated learning experience.
